Budget constraints and space limitations were often reasons end users would forego uninterruptible power to edge devices. BTU’s “Uninterruptible Power (over Ethernet) Supply™” changes this entirely. With the all new UPS SolidSwitch, integrators and engineers now have the ability to add UPS to their design using a device that takes no more space than a conventional switch, adds no more cost to network installation budgets and is priced comparably to high quality, conventional, outdoor switches. A fresh approach to UPS where “always on power” will soon be the new norm for mission critical devices.

HIGHLIGHTS

The SolidSwitch’s compact profile is made possible by the use of a small, PCB-mounted, 300-watt power supply, making way for a compact, yet highly efficient, Lithium Ion power pack. This inclusive power pack has a respectable 350Wh of emergency backup, expandable to a substantial 1400Wh with the “UPS Power Cover”.

Product Overview

The UPS-PoE Injector recognizes AC and PSE power disruptions and automatically switches the power source to an internal battery pack. Switching between power sources is instantaneous and glitch free, providing smooth uninterrupted power system operations where “always on” operating is mission critical. All POE enabled devices including, wireless radios, surveillance cameras, RFID's, sensors and controls can greatly benefit from this power source and backup all-in-one unit!

Auxiliary Power Capsule

The Auxiliary Power Capsule is a 350Wh Li-Ion battery pack that connects to the Brownout Buddy’s AUX port to increase the Buddy’s emergency back-up by 5 times to 435Wh. Additional capsules can be daisy chained together to provide the desired back-up for specific applications. These compact Li-Ion battery packs are din rail mountable and can be positioned along side the din rail mountable Brownout Buddy and Buddy Powered Switch to provide continuous operation of multiple Ethernet powered devices. The capsules will recharge when utility power is restored.

Solar Power Capsule

The Solar Power Capsule connects to the Buddy’s Auxiliary port and like the Auxiliary Power Capsule increases battery capacity by 5 times what is included in the Buddy to 435Wh and are designed to be daisy chained together and are din rail mountable. In the case of the Solar Capsules, the recharging occurs during daylight with a solar converter and the charging is facilitated at a faster rate than the recharge of the Auxiliary Capsules using utility Power.
